We cross the Forth to work right across Fife, from Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy to Glenrothes and St Andrews.
Fife has seaside towns, old mining villages and newer estates. Each one needs a different approach. We handle rewires, EICRs, EV chargers, solar and commercial work. You always get the price in writing before we start.
Our base is in Lanark, south of the Forth. We travel into Fife for each job and plan the visit ahead, so the work runs to time.
Fife homes and their wiring
Coal shaped much of Fife. The number of pits grew tenfold in Victorian times. Villages like Cowdenbeath grew into towns as miners moved in. Homes from that era can still hide old wiring.
Glenrothes was made a new town in 1948. The first homes went up at Auchmuty, South Parks, Rimbleton and Woodside. Macedonia, Tanshall, Caskieberran, Pitteuchar and Cadham came in the 1960s and 1970s. Those are mostly terraced homes, some with flat roofs. Homes of that age can still have their first consumer unit.
From the 1980s, private builders added cul-de-sacs at places like Balgeddie, Formonthills and Pitcairn. These homes have newer wiring. The jobs there tend to be EV chargers, solar and extra sockets.
Dunfermline became a city in 2022. Kirkcaldy was once the world centre for linoleum. With such a mix, we test first and plan the job for the home in front of us. That way the price you get in writing matches the work the house really needs.
What we get called out for in Fife
Rewires and new boards
Older homes in the mining towns can need a full rewire. Others just need a modern consumer unit with RCD protection.
Landlord EICRs
Private landlords in Scotland need an electrical safety check at least every five years. If you have more than one let in Fife, we can test them on one trip.
EV chargers and solar
We fit home chargers on their own circuit and install solar panels for homes and businesses.
Shop fits and commercial work
Bigger jobs suit the trip best. We take on shop fits, offices and business units across Fife.

Is it worth calling you for a small job in Fife?
Tell us what you need. We are based in Lanark, so we plan Fife trips with care. Bigger jobs suit the trip best, but we will tell you straight if we can help.
How do you set the price for a job in Fife?
It depends on the work, the parts and the travel. We look at the job, then put the price in writing before we start. We price competitively and never cut corners.
Do Fife landlords need an EICR?
Yes. Private landlords in Scotland need an electrical safety check at least every five years. The system must also have RCD protection. We test the whole system and give you the report.
